The Summer Orchestra Camp, sponsored by the Messiah College Department of Music, offers an exciting opportunity for students entering grades 7 through 12.  Each student plays in 2 orchestras, 1 chamber ensemble, daily master classes and takes courses on musicianship.  All ensembles and lessons are taught by an  expert faculty of artist-teachers comprised of  Messiah College faculty and orchestral educators from Central Pennsylvania.  Students will also perform in 2 concerts and attend an outstanding performance of the Mendelssohn Piano Trio as part of Market Square Concerts Summermusic Festival.

Students will be housed in an air-conditioned residence hall with supervision by Messiah College Summer Orchestra Camp Staff.  Delicious meals are served in the Eisenhower Campus Center.


Casual attire is appropriate for rehearsals and recreation.  Concert dress will include white shirt and dark slacks for gentlemen and white blouse and dark skirt or slacks for ladies.  


Student musicians should plan to bring their own instruments and supplies.


     $535 for Resident Students
            (includes housing and all meals)

     $435 for Commuting Students
            (includes lunch and dinner daily)


Online registration is available here.  Alternately, you may register by clicking on this link, filling out the brochure and sending in the deposit.  The deadline for sending in the application and nonrefundable deposit fee ($50) is JUNE 1. Students will be notified of acceptance soon after the application is received.
  ***PLEASE NOTE:  The online registration option currently only accepts full payment (instead of just the $50 deposit)--we are fixing this.  In the meantime, if you would prefer to only pay the deposit at this time,  feel free to register by mail***
