Burkina Faso

I would write a lot about our trip. But I don't have a whole lot of time, so I'll settle for pictures. After all, a picture is worth a thousand words...

Ouagadougou

We arrived late at night, so the next morning we needed to organize our luggage.

We had great quarters at the SIM guest house.

We were treated to a wonderful meal with Malcome and Jenny Watts' home.

The guest house common area became our hang out for a few days.

We took a walk around the SIM compound to see what we could see and found ourselves immersed in African culture.

IMS Networking project

One of my projects was to make it easy for the students at the Institute Missiologique du Sahel to print from computers upstairs to the printer attached to the secretary's computer down stairs. They do not have a network, so Tim Jones, Kevin LaFlamme, and I built one.

IMS prepares students from all over West Africa to become pastors and missionaries.

The computer room. One of the main struggles in this area with technology is the dust.

Kevin and Scott test a network cable just built.

Running the cable along cement walls was a challenge. We only needed to drill one hole through a wall.

The secretary's computer needed surgery. The fine wires in the network interface were messed up and needed to be straightened. This is the first time I fixed a network connection using tweezers.

Carefully measure everything - with a stick and a finger.
