My Political Views

political issues.
I am an advocate for the conservative political ideology and am a registered Republican. Below are some of my thoughts on controversial political issues facing our country today, as well as some issues on campus that concern students.

National Issues
Illegal Immigration: I do not support Amnesty for all current illegal immigrants in the United States. This would result in millions of new Americans receiving the benefits of citizenship suddenly, increasing the cost to government services and ultimately on taxpayers.

Abortion: I am Pro Life.

Foreign Policy
Iraq: More troops from the beginning would have created more stability and less support for insurgents. it is not to late to accomplish security, more troops are needed. I support sending more troops in Iraq. If we are going to continue to fight this war we must fight to win. Historically we have seen the devastating effects of Fighting wars with know objective, such as in Vietnam.

Iran: I support a tough policy on Iran. Iran has stated that it intends to export Nuclear materials to other third world nations, and this presents a definite threat to the united states as these materials could be used in weapons against us. Iran is also developing its own weapons, which threaten the United States as well as Israel and our other allies.

China: This country has become the focal point of my interest in foreign affairs. China has the potential to become a powerful nation on the same level as the United States. With this great power China could benefit the United States or they could become the most serious of threats. China must stop its human rights violations and allow for religious freedom. In addition to this, it must discontinue its military build up.

Issues on Messiah's Campus
Flag Pole: Messiah does not have a flagpole on campus devoted to displaying our countries flag. Though Messiah claims to have reason founded in the Christian faith for this policy choice, it is my view that displaying an American flag does not show a stronger loyalty to America then to the Kingdom of God.
