Procedure
How to test your lung capacity...
1) Fill a large bowl with water.
2) Cut the top off the plastic bottle.
3) Fill the measuring cup with water and write down how much it holds.
4) Pour the water from the measuring cup into the bottle.
5) Using a permanent marker or tape, mark a scale (use 8-10 sections) up the side of the bottle.
6) Place the palm of your hand over the open end of the bottle.
7) Quickly turn it upside down and plunge it into the bowl.
8) Now, remove your hand.The water should stay in the bottle.
9) Tape the two straws together using the insulation tape.
10) Slide one end of the straw under the bottle.
11) Take a deep breath, and blow out into the other end of the straw.
12) Using your scale, measure the amount of air at the top of the bottle. This is your lung capacity.
