Jerry Hess

Professor of Biology

I am an animal physiologist by training and more recently an electron microscopist. I have been at Messiah College since 1970

The electron microscope lab is equipped with a Philips 300R TEM, an AmRay 3200 EcoSEM, a Reichert OMU-2 ultramicrotome and a Sorvall MT-1 ultramicrotome.

Research Interests

I have recently used the TEM and SEM to study the effects of opioid growth factors on corneal wound healing. I have also studied the effects of aging on the adrenocortical axis of the rat.
