Olive Mount Bowhunters

A Chapter of

Christian Bowhunters

 of America

Thank you for your interest in Olive Mount Bowhunters, a chapter of Christian Bowhunters of America (CBA) in the South central Pennsylvania area. CBA is a national organization, which exists mainly in the form of local chapters such as Olive Mount Bowhunters.

Olive Mount Bowhunters was the dream of two good friends Greg Gearhart and Dave Baechtle, who were both members of CBA and desired to use their favorite activity, bowhunting, to spread the news of Jesus Christ. Organizations such as CBA provide the framework for Christians with similar life-interests to come together to encourage one another and to inject Christ into a segment of our culture that may otherwise never hear the Gospel. Christian hunters already spend a lot of time either hunting, getting ready to hunt, talking about previous hunts, or looking forward to future hunts. CBA simply allows us to bring our passion for Christ and our passion for bowhunting into the same arena. It allows us to enjoy and pursue the sport of bowhunting and its associated activities in a wholesome environment centered around our faith. It also provides the opportunity to use the great sport of bowhunting, which we all love and spend much time at, as a method to make contact with our pre-Christian friends. We try to accomplish this by offering interesting and non-threatening activities that will allow our members to bring their pre-Christian friends into contact with Christians and at which we can present the Gospel message. Some events that we have sponsored, attended, or would like to be involved with include:

Hold our own 3-D shoots.

Attend 3-D shoots as a group.

Have a CBA booth & hold services at the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show or similar events.

Hold wild game meals.

Have meetings centered around various topics of interest to hunters such as tracking and butchering deer, taxidermy, watching hunting videos and compass reading.

These are some of the ideas we have for meeting together.

We encourage you to review this information and make sure that you are comfortable with the CBA Purpose Statement and the Statement of Faith. Although it is not required that you be a member of CBA in order to participate in our chapter activities, we urge you to consider joining even if you would decide not to participate in our chapter. Without the support of the national organization, local chapters such as ours cannot continue, and CBA needs your membership in order to be able to continue.
