Opera Workshop MUEN 149: |

|
Opera Workshop was developed in 2004-2005 and offered, for the first time in Messiah College history, during the spring semester 2006 and has subsequently been offered every spring semester since 2006. This course includes lecture information on the aspects of the stage, the protocol of the professional stage and performer, stage and acting technique, small opera performance projects and an opera scenes program or complete opera performance using minimal set pieces, properties and costumes. Diction for Singers I: |
| |
|
Diction for Singers I (currently in development) is a one-semester course, which includes comprehensive study of IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) and its application, with rules and exceptions, to the Italian and German languages. Class activities include lectures, diction games for memorization, IPA assignments of Italian and German texts, and in-class performances in Italian and German.
