Newberry (Quaker) Meeting House

Location - Newberry Township, York Co., PA

This is the second burial ground that is west of the older one that is in Newberrytown. The meeting house at the first one, built 1745 in log and then replaced 1792 with brick, is gone, but the stone one still stands here at this site, built 1811, and is used once a year

Daniel Hoopes died July 9, 1873 Aged 71 yrs 7 mo. & 9 days

Phebe Hoops died Apr 6, 1857 Aged 82 yrs

In Memory of William Hoopes born 9th mo. 31. 1768 died 9th mo. 15. 1843 Aged 74 years 11 months & 17 days

Wm Hoops died 4th mo. 6th 1846 aged about 37 years

In memory of Job Hoops who departed this life 10th mo. 12th 1847 Aged 52 years 8 months & 29 days

In memory of William Henry son of Jacob B. Mary Hoopes born Nov 27 1842 died Oct 31 1845 Aged 2 years 11 mo & 4 D.

Mary wife of Jacob Hoopes died Aug 3 1877 Aged 56 years 1 mo. & 15 days A mother dear mother kind Has gone and left us all behind


I copied the punctuation, spelling, and capitalization exactly so the inconsistencies are the stonecarver's.
