Exchange = the act of giving one thing and receiving another. We exchange things all the time. Money for a cup of coffee. Smiles across the room. Clothing at a favorite store. Stories about childhoods (or funniest moments). But how about exchanging comfort for new experiences? Or family for new cultures? Suddenly, the concept of exchange becomes much more complex.
Within this site, I will attempt to provide resources for families who are interested in being on both the giving and receiving ends of exchange. In the process, I will attempt to share from my personal experiences with hosting and be-friending students taking a merging into our culture (in Pennsylvania, USA). For students who are considering exchange program, you are welcome to check our my resources but may find that others exist that will be more helpful.
The motivation behind this website is to create pages for the Problem Solving with Computers course at Messiah College, Grantham, PA and to provide resources for individuals and families who may find their passions and talents are a cross-roads with society's growing need for new host families.
