A sacrament is a visible act that symbolizes a spiritual truth. The spiritual truth about sex is the way it mirrors God's relationship with humanity. (Exel; Thielicke) In the OT idolatry is called adultery. Sex between two men or between two women would symbolize God and humanity at the same level. The doctrine of the Incarnation defends God and humanity being permanently brought together, but not together on the same level.
