Agreed! Gnosticism is a heresy. The flesh it not in itself evil.

Nor is the mind itself evil. But the mind can rationalize that any strong desire is good. Gnostics do not say that flesh is good; gnostics say that it is impossible to sin with the body because our bodies are prisons that encase us but are not essentially us. The gnostic heresy is that the body doesn't matter. For both the gnostic and the Christian sin begins in the mind. (James 1:14)

Gnostics also claim to have special knowledge not generally known. Gays claim that "gay" as an affirmation of identity was unknown until K.M. Benkert introduced the term in 1869 (De Young ...). If this special knowledge about homosexuality was not available to people prior to then, that too is a form of gnosticism.
