I argue even more strongly that the rise of modern
science was made possible only because of Christian
theology (Hooykaas). My 1992
lecture shows that for the rise of modern mathematics
(Chase [1996]). Science does
not contradict the senses, but extends the senses. Even
in a sun-centered universe, "the sun is rising" makes
sense. There is a Science section to
these questions.
No science, behavioral or otherwise, makes normative claims, as gay writer Pim Pronk details at book-length (Pronk). See my review of Pronk (Chase [199...]). Even in a gay-affirming society, that God might proscribe homosexuality makes sense.
