Yes, the 10% myth of Alfred Kinsey's 1948 book (Kinsey et al.) exploded at least by 1990 (Reisman), and was confirmed in a $1.8 million study in 1993 by the Guttmacher Institute (Socarides [1995] 65). Those studies show that perhaps 1.1% to 2.4% of adult males are homosexual throughout their adult lives. Gay academic Richard Isay criticizes the 1.1% because so many gays are in denial. (Socarides [1995] 67) It is hard however to distinguish between being in denial and resisting homosexual temptations.
