You are right: sex is great! The margins in my first Bible were so uncomfortable with the Song of Solomon that they spiritualized it all to refer to Christ and the Church. Some Christians have difficulty praying with their wives before having sex, so out of touch are they with an embodied spirituality. As the old joke goes, we teach our teens, "Sex is dirty. Save it for the one you love."

By contrast, I celebrate embodied spirituality, but I don't see the leap from that to homosexuality. Some sex -- sex in public, sex with someone to whom you are not married, sex with children, or homosexual sex -- is proscribed by God to preserve its deepest meaning.
