Jewish commentator Dennis Prager says that the beginnings of the high status of women in society can be traced to the Hebrew refusal to divide sex partners into inserter and insertee. (Prager) It is striking how the OT Hebrew culture contrasts with all of the cultures around it, all of which welcomed homosexuality. (Greenberg) I agree with Prager: this is hard to account for unless the Hebrews had heard from God. I object to the word "homophobic."
