St. Paul thought that Jesus would return soon, forming
the basis of his argument for celibacy. Jesus was
celibate. The argument that one man marries one woman
based on a Creation mandate is not mine; it is Jesus'
in Matthew 19:4. Incidentally, Jewish commentator
Dennis Prager in fact argues that celibacy is not
