Mate Mirabal

Maria Teresa (Mate) was the baby of the family, as she was a few years younger than Minerva. Mate married Leandro Guzman, whom she met through Minerva and Manolo's involvement in the underground. Mate was the second Mirabal sister to join the underground. She suffered imprisonment and torture as a result of her involvement. Leandro was also imprisoned. Mate was assassinated on November 25, 1960, along with her two sisters and their driver, Rufino de la Cruz.
