Ways In Which the As-Is System can be Improved

• Switching the current New Hope Ministries database over from FileMaker Pro to Microsoft Access.
• This would create a more user-friendly environment in which the employees could work; also it would open up many more possibilities to the database.
• Create a duplicate database in Microsoft Access with many more options.
• Cut down the amount of time it is taking for the Administrative Assistant to enter and retrieve information into the database.
• Cut down the amount of time that it is taking to generate monthly, yearly, and random reports.
• Eliminate the manual labor of generating and calculating certain reports.
• Eliminate the errors and glitches that are currently dealt with in use of Filemaker.
• As you can see by our As-Is model the "Children and Youth" ministry is a separate entity. If Increment II is reached it will deal with the merging of the "Children and Youth" ministry in with the "Client and Family" Database.
• Increment II will also provide New Hope Ministry with a much faster and easier way to generate reports and a way to calculate financial functions necessary to the organization.
• If  Increment III is reached we will develop a user-interface that will be sufficient in helping the workers in the navigation of the new database.
• Increment III will also include the possibility of being able to generate charts and graphs that will be relevant to the collection of data for monthly and yearly reports. Then finally connect the three New Hope Ministries offices on a small network.
